went in today and looked, found a bed spot that smelled like guts right where I heard first group of coyotes. searched the entire area well, no buck. i fear the yotes jumped him and ran him off south till he died. the second group i heard was a few hundred yards south of the first time, right the direction he went. bummer!

Dad shot one this morning at 6:48. Haven't tracked yet. Hunting till 9. He said it was a good one to get out of the gene pool. Nice way of saying it isn't very big more than likely.

I've had a 8 point and button buck bedded by me all morning. Nothing else going on.

Never found any blood. Tried grid searching our area. Didn't find anything. Gave it 9 hours. Did see 2 nice bucks while looking.

My dad is pretty bummed. He had shot that for a friend that said his family was running low on meat. He was going to see the guy tomorrow and wanted to bring a deer to him.

We need to get some good luck going though our group after two lost deer in the last week. These warm temps in Illinois are putting a damper on deer movement. Hoping this weekend will be better.

Weekend is looking sexy for some deer movement and some bucks hitting the ground. Hopefully on our team.

I'm so ready... my dad and I are leaving New Orleans at 3:30 tomorrow and driving 2.5 hours to our deer camp in Mississippi. From there we will depart for Illinois at 3:00 am. I'm pumped. This has been the longest week.

I'm hunting tomorrow afternoon. All day sits Saturday and Sunday. Low of 27 this weekend. Next weekend the same for sits.

Good luck this weekend to those out. I'm sure I can at least add some good pictures of deer being shot this weekend. Whether I'm in them is the luck of the draw. Spend the time out there now and your luck goes up.

Making some elk for people Saturday night to eat along with a few adult beverages.

I bought some fancy coffee that is supposed to be really strong for the all day sits when I get bored if not seeing deer. I don't normally drink coffee, but love it in the stand on cold days in a thermos
