Trocars shoot well. Never shot an animal with them. Seem perfect for helical fletchings. I've shot animals with trophy taker shuttle t locks and they look similar in size. They shoot well, but not a huge head and not a huge blood trail. I'll switch to 125 grain next time with shuttle t locks which I use elk hunting. A little bigger. They will kill like all broadheads though.
It doesn't look like I will be spending money on broadheads for a while. I may try the trocars this season since I've been fletching my arrows with the Bitzenburger I bought a couple months ago. They should compliment each other nicely.
I am ready for next week to come. My sister is getting married this weekend which means no hunting for me. Hoping that maybe I will be able to sneak out on Sunday evening, but otherwise I am taking a couple days off. Hoping with the colder temps coming in next week that stuff will start moving some more.
Haven't been at all this week. Wind has been wrong to hunt. It's going to be perfect for Saturday and Sunday though.
I have not seen a deer the last two nights, deer went from moving to nothin. hoping the cool weather coming in will change that
I will be out in the woods either Sunday or definitely October 29th through November 10th vaaaacccation!! Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Went out last night and sat in stand for first sit in this stand. Pretty fun sit. Realized I need to adjust my stand a little bit which I might do tonight since it is supposed to be windy. Should cover any noise I make. Saw 1 buck driving utv in that was in our food plot. Smaller 8 point. Corn is still up on our farm. Corn should be out by next week for sure unless we get a bunch of rain. Ending up seeing 4 bucks total. 1 decent buck that is a 9 point. Other 3 were a 3, 4, and 6 point. 3 of the four worked a scrape line right in front of me which was fun to watch. Smallest of the 3 came in chasing two smaller does. Mostly just running around my stand which is still fun to me. The bigger buck was there for awhile. I had him broadside at 42 yards working a licking branch. He eventually worked around me and caught my wind. Always interesting to me watching bucks when they catch your wind what they do. He just froze and was immediately on high alert. He really checked things out for awhile and then snuck out along the corn. One of his brow tines is broken off. Got to study him pretty good. Video of him below. He was out an hour before dark. http://vid1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/scarps23/9 point_zps0kqzeqq8.mp4
This guy came by about a half hour ago. Just went back the way he came in. Could have got a shot at 34. Browtines looked cool. Sitting in the rain and left my rain gear at home. I'm an idiot.
Yeah it was a little back on a doe. Seen that and backed out. Giving it plenty of time before I head out to find her.
Put down a doe with my bow early this morning. #2 of the year. Check out a quick clip https://instagram.com/p/9OyIVOvwN8/ 70° this morning and rain from that hurricane in Mexico is almost here. Felt great to get it done.
Went back this morning to track her. Followed blood to where she had bedded down. Very small amount of blood in the bed. Combed the woods for her, but unfortunately I couldn't find her. This has to be one of the worst feelings I've felt as a bowhunter. I've never had this happen before, but I guess it was a matter of time. Sorry guys. I'm not too happy with myself right now.
Been there done that a few times it happens you just gotta keep at it Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
