Had 4 does come in on the urban property I hunt. The big mature doe was my target, but she could sense something was up and wouldn't calm down. The other three were calm as could be and feeding. Could have taken one of them but I chose the biggest that was on edge. Taking the compound tomorrow so she will be done for.

Went again this morning. Had the same does come in at the same time as yesterday. Was gojng to take the compound but I ended up replacing my 10year old HHA Infringer with a new Optimizer. Have it sighted in but wasn't fully confident in it yet. Went with the recurve again and they stayed out about 35-40 yards. May take a vacation day in the middle of the week and try again.

tonight I had a true giant come out at 300 yards, was hunting with my son in the rifle stand. I grunted at him, he proceeds to march all the way in to 25 yards, I am at full draw he is walking. I lean a little to make sure the arrow clears the window. my stabilizer bumps the wall of the stand. light little noise. dead calm night, does he stop and look at the stand, no he takes off running, runs out to 80 yards stands there for 5 minutes and walks away. I couldn't believe it! hopefully i can get another crack at him!

Well this weekend was perfect to be out hunting and for the first time all season I was able to get out most of the weekend. I shot my second coyote of the season so there are two bonus points for me!

I saw 14 deer yesterday morning after I shot the coyote at first light. Could have shot 10 of the 14, the only problem is that most of them were does and I passed on a 2 pt, 3 pt and 2 - 4 pts lol. At least the deer were moving but the big boys were still in hiding.

I went to Property #2 last night and had 3 of the biggest does I have ever see come running in right at dark. They were running so hard I thought they were being chased. They came right in, stopped and started eating acorns. One of them had to be at least 180 lbs. I am already standing. I get the bow, Wait for her to turn broadside. I check for eyes and draw. 14 yards, I got this! I can see the pin with my naked eye, but not through the Peep. My Peep sight was severely twisted. WTH! I let down and try to straighten it out. No Luck! I hang the bow back up and wait for them to leave. Here is a time I wish I could have shot with both eyes open. This is impossible for me because I am Left Eye Dominant and I am Right Handed. Oh Well! I am not upset about it. I am SO GLAD it wasn't the Big Buck I am after. The Peep is tied in so I am taking it back to the Shop to get the Peep issue resolved tomorrow. Heading out again Wednesday and on Sunday.

What a bummer when equipment malfunctions but you are certainly right it is always better than if it were a large buck standing there!

Actually we're closer to 1st place. I forgot to add the time to my entry so we're missing 50pts. I went back and edited so hopefully he credits it soon.

    My 50pts gives us 497 3/8 and 1st place

Yesterday, I cooked the shoulder of the doe I killed the other weekend. I wanted to show yall the shoulder where the arrow impacted

Rage Xtreme through the shoulder! I did stop on the back shoulder but I was impressed to see this cut the actual bone. It's not a break, that just a clean cut!

That's pretty cool. I've always thought about saving the shoulder blades to test broadheads. I always forget to keep them. We are in 1st with what isn't showing on the board. Assuming other teams don't have the same situation.

Lot of corn is out right now. Hoping our farm is out by this week. Really helps funnel the deer a little closer to my stands and food plot. Right now they are everywhere. This is the first year I've actually used patience and not overhunted the area early. Pre-rut usually shows some pretty good deer in our area. At least in the past.

    Good luck out there.

I just got a free package of rage heads. I've got those and some muzzy trocars from winning the Feradyne timetohunt contest. Got a bunch ofnother goodies as well. It's nice to see mechanical heads doing work like that. I've never used a mechanical head, so I've been hesitant to shoot them.

Looks like team 22 got another buck. Should be pretty close right now. Kill those does. Bucks will come. Good start on two bucks already.
