Went for the majority of the day today. Seen very little movement, but it was still nice to be out there. I'm ready for cooler temps. Also heading back to GA on Oct. 8th to hunt for a few days.

I'll be out later this week once season opens. Hoping to get a doe put down early.

It's the same buck. He is has put on more inches in the second pic. Look at the G2 and G3 on the right side. Only difference is he added more inches. His man beam on his right side is longer.

The buck I call FullHouse is showing up more now. He showed up at 8:50PM a few days ago. I think the first cold weather we get in October he will start to show during daylight hours. I think the pre-Rut will be when I get him.

Well guys our season officially starts for bucks Thursday! I have been seeing some great activity even out of my mature bucks in the evenings. right now my intention is to put my wife on a big 8 or a big 6 that are both going by a stand nightly. the wind looks to be perfect, so we will see! I will probably unless a giant shows up opening night, you never know, take the first doe by and get some meat in the freezer! will be an exciting weekend! here is the big 6 what you guys think on age on him? last year he looked the exact same, I was on the fence last year between 2-3 yr old. his body is pretty impressive for our area. I saw him in person at 100 yards last week and almost think he could be 4 1/2 anyway, he is target number 1, I have way bigger bucks running around but I would much rather arrow this guy. [IMG]

Well guys I have the bad luck... I arrowed a doe on Saturday morning..it took off like a freight train so I thought I twelved ringed her. We gave it a few hours before getting down to look at the arrow so what the arrow looked like it hit the guts which I thought it was weird like I said that she tore ***..me and my buddy both thought we heard her crash..but the morel of the story is that we didn't find it...if you guys want more details I can fill you in but not happy how this ended!

Man I am so ready to get in a tree! Season starts Thursday morning and I will be going in late so I can sit in a tree! I went to Walmart this morning and bought my two combo sets of tags. I got two buck and two doe tags and an archery turkey tag as well.

I pulled cameras and I got one buck that I am guessing will go in the 140-150 range that I will stick an arrow through in a heartbeat. He is coming out in the morning and evening so hopefully will get a crack at him these first couple days.

    Did you check your bow?

It happens. Have a short memory and get out there again. Nature will still use that deer.

I'm pretty jacked up too. I bought 4 tags last weekend. 3 doe tags and 1 any sex. I usually share meat with some of my neighbors. Bought some new stuff to try for making finished products of meat. Salami, Garlic & Pepper summer sausage, hot snack sticks, venison bacon, and some jerky seasoning. I thawed out a couple of roasts from last year that I'll make into some jerky tomorrow night. I'm hoping the smoker is going this weekend too with some products.

I'll be out Thursday afternoon with my dad. We usually hunt a couple of stands where we can see each other. Kind of fun for the first hunt every year.

Leaving work early tomorrow to hit the woods in the evening. This weekend is going to be nothing but rain. May end up heading down to GA this weekend instead, but I'll only get to hunt Sat. and Sun. morning.
