I use tracer nocks which are activated by a magnet on the riser shelf. So far so good,I also prefer green.
havent had good luck with illuminated nocks lost all i've purchased or they wouldnt work but when they did i enjoyed them i use a heavier arrow so i bought some off of ebay cant recall the name but they was awesome lost all of them though i guess it depends on what you like
I used Lumenok, and when it came time to work, it didn't. I hit a deer, which jumped the string, in the femur. It never activated. You'd swear I hit a baseball, with the loud "crack". I found the deer the next morning, but no arrow around. Highly dissapointed. I've switched to tracer nocks. Way more dependable. Lights up every time. It's also handy, should u miss, you'll see it blinking in the distance.
well i have been informed a few fields that were previously corn and nomrally cut a few weeks into season will be soy bean next year... with the beans i will hunt them from the beginning and dont want to lose an arrow nor do i want to even risk equipment problems, figured id take that extra steps to do what i can on my part
I like mine. I have both the red and green. Mine light up every shot. If you have trouble with them lighting up try to square the end of your arrow. to insure good continuity.
I've heard a few states are outlawing them. I do know that it was brought to the floor of the State Senate, Wisconsin, during a budget hearing. Luckly it was struck down but I suggest people keep their eyes out for this type of legislation in the comming months. I guess the reasoning, if this is what you call reasoning, is they are just like tracer rounds for firearms....
I would be be curious to know what installing lighted nocks does to your FOC%. How much weight does it add to the wrong side of the arrow?
I've used lumenock for 3 years and I have no complaints. There is a new lighted nock out this year that is getting good reviews over a AT and is cheaper than most brands. Remember folks. A lighted nock DQ's you from entering a Pope & Young buck. Check the regs about electronics.
Let's say your total arrow weight is 400 grains. 22 grains to a 400 grain set-up is 5.5% of your total arrow weight on the wrong end. Sounds like that is making significant changes to your set-up if you ask me. Most people are looking for more FOC..... not less.
