Is it me or is the "Oct Lull" really quiet in the woods before the rut starts. I've only seen a few deer here & there. Alot of sign, so I know they're there, but just not alot. I believe we are on the eve of the rut next week or 1st week of Nov. Do they go nocturnal just before they go gaga over the does? Maybe it's where I'm hunting, but not seeing a whole lot between private & public land. what's your opinion?

Slow for me too, I did see several deer tonight but I had to get on top of them to do it.

I saw one little fork horn this weekend. I only hunted twice and it was youth gun weekend but one deer is still a slow weekend. I was hunting with my longbow and wanted to kill him but I'm in an antler restriction county.

    I hear ya brother....

I went out this weekend and did not see many deer. Time plus where I hunt the winds were terrible and it snowed like heck too. I did do a bit of in season scouting and found a few places to hunt, new scrapes and rubs. Plus one rub right under a stand. Woo Hoo

Oh man. It was a tough weekend here in Wisconsin. I didn't see any deer during daylight this weekend. I put in twelve hours on Saturday and it was beautiful out. Does and bucks were on the trail cams right before dawn and right after dusk.

The scrapes are still getting attention, but it must be at night.

My guess is the lull will last through this week and hopefully get better on and after Halloween. Next week always seems to be the best!

Saw a nice buck from my home stand the other day in daylight! Didn't come my way though. Oh well maybe on Wed.
