Why would I hunt with someone I dont trust with a gun let alone my own safety? Not everyone in this world is stupid and most of them i know have common sense! Troll ON!
I'm not trolling. Common sense? Let's take a guy hunting whose never shot a gun and then tell him his finger is the safety. That sounds real safe.
Hey it worked, Im not dead, he isnt dead, and he has a nice euro mount to prove he can shoot now! Ive always been told your finger is your safety!
It doesn't take years of experience to shoot a gun. The kids coming out of hunters safety don't get too much gun training either.... Back to the op's question. I have a buddy that does absolutely no scouting at all, and usually shoots something in the first 2-3 hours of gun season... Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
I have a buddy who is darn good hunter and woodsman. Between work and helping his young son deer hunt he was so busy this year he barely had time to hunt. On his second sit of the year and only two hours in he arrowed a solid 8 pointer for our area. About 2-3 minutes later a monster buck walked down the same trail and he arrowed that one as well. I think he has been hunting for 40 years and the larger buck was his largest non-typical to date. When he told me about his success I felt like I was the one that scored. It was awesome.
Oh okay...I thought you said just one and done...30 minutes of practice and teaching with gun I can accept that depending on experience of him and yourself and the level of teaching which occurred. I still don't know if I would be cool with that but all I can say is my opinion. I do concede that guns are much easier to learn and be able to kill a deer but I'd probably wanted more time. Perhaps I'm an old minded fuddy duddy though. Either way congrats to him though!
To each their own, I kept it short so I wouldn't lose anyones attention lol. Plus I kept myself pretty far away from him lol
Most 'lucky' beginning hunters are probably set up near bedding without even realizing it. And often times are near bedding because they are hunting overlooked spots that most serious hunters would scoff at.
