Most of you guys have probably seen Brian's posts about Lucky 7 Trace Mineral Attractant and how he needed a couple guys to have a mineral site to test.

Well I was one of those guys and I got it out yesterday 4-30-13 on my farm in Minnesota.

Four wheeler loaded up and ready to put in the site. Also seeded some clover nearby. This was one of many stops to open up gates to get through the pastures.

Here is the area I chose for the site (virgin ground). I have a stand hung roughly 25 yards behind me.

I asked Brian how he wanted me to put the site in and said it was my choice.
This is how I decided to do it:
    1) Clear a 3' x 3' area of debris with a garden rake
    2) Dug down 6-8 inches and laid soil to the side
    3) Spread 1/3 of the bag in the hole and cover with a layer of soil
    4) Spread the next 1/3 on top and cover with more soil
    5) Spread the last 1/3 on top and cover with the remaining soil
    6) Dumped about 3-4 gallons of water on top of the hole and let soak in

Here is what it looked like when I left.

I have the trail cam sitting over it so whenever I get the chance in a week or two I will pull the card and give you guys the update!

    I love spring!

    Looks good!

Keep us posted, hope you get some good pics. I need to post some more from my cam pull last weekend. I got quite a few pics, but my camera is aimed too high. I need to drop it down a hair the next time I go. If the deer approach from the camera side, they trip the cam, but all you see is ears, LOL!

This time of year is fun. Finding out who survived the year, watching little bucks become big bucks, etc. You get to know some of these deer pretty well after a couple years. You even get sad when they don't turn up for another season.

OP do you have any other attractants or minerals out on property as well or just this one? Just curious to know what your thoughts are of the product in comparison.

I just want to say, this is not a comparison. This is standalone testing.

Did my first card pull from the Lucky 7 site this afternoon. Was out roughly 1 week and had 150 pictures. Was very pleased being a new area. Deer had their heads down nearly the entire time they were visiting the site. Camera was pointed a little high, my bad! Got it moved to hopefully a better angle.

Gotta love how they move more freely in daytime during the off-season.

There were pictures on 6 different days at random times of the day. 5am, 11am, 2pm, 8pm and around midnight.

We have tried many locations locally. In areas with lots of deer, deer show up. In areas without many deer, they still show up. One of the reasons I have asked testers to try using it their own way and in new locations is because we developed Lucky 7 to be able to draw them in from a distance. If you already have a lot of deer around, any attractant can bring them in. The real test, and the reason we were NOT looking for comparisons, was simply because we are testing its ability to bring deer to it no matter where it is. If the neighbors land has better natural forage, it can be tough to pull them over by you. Lucky 7 will do that. They will spend time at your site, and maybe change long term behavior, bringing your property more deer and more opportunities for harvest. That big buck in the neighbor's swamp may just come over to the Lucky 7 site.

Plenty of post since i sent it on 5/3. Not talking bad, but hope to get some information because really looking for a product that will attract the deer. With my hunting situation the benefits of minerals wouldnt be seen as much as it is for some of those who hunt there own land and manage their own herd.

Comin from a tester, go buy a trophy rock or anythin like that from wal mart or somethin an you'll get the same results. 3 weeks an only 4 deer, they've come into it only a few times not repeatedly on a daily basis. Not bashin his company, just have no results that would give me any reason to spend my money on it. Just some food for thought guys, there is another company that has actually given me amazing results in a very low populated deer area. PM me for some details.
