The way he made it sound was it was mainly does in there. His buck has pretty unique features that would make it hard to accidentally grab it thinking it was theirs.

Like a tag with his name on it? :lol

There's a place here that has an after hours deer locker. I'd never use it, heck I wouldn't even send the rack to the processors. Both mine got caped by the processor and put in my own fridge or freezer until I got ahold of the taxi.

Ya tag would be a give away. I wouldn't send the antlers either and he should have known better.

That blows! At the same time I would never have any processors around here cape my deer out. You are just a number... They could care less if they butcher (pun intended) it. More then likely end up with a hack job. That and they charge out the a$$ to do it.

Complete punks. I swear I would charge them with grand larceny and also ban them from ever hunting again.

I've never even heard of that happening.

On the other hand. I'm not sure i understand the process. Was he paying the place to cape it for him or to store it for him?

He was putting it in there to cool it off and was going back this morning to cape it out. Once he finished caping it he was going to leave the deer there for them to process. He had a fairly late night last night.

Man Dan, that sucks. There is a processor near me that has a cooler open 24/7 for deer. I've never used it for this reason. Hope he atleast gets the rack back. Not sure I'd want the meat at this point.

If this is a small town I would put up flyers at local gas stations asking people to help you out. Lots of older people don't use social media. That right G3 will help identify this animal. Also there should be a warning put on that locker so this doesn't happen to more people this season. You could even find a 100 inch road kill buck and leave it in there and leave a camera hidden in the trees and do some detective work if your so inclined.

The locker around here won't take any deer unless the hide and head are removed.

[IMG]. Had this guy stolen the next morning after I shot him. Caped him out and was going to take him to taxidermy

Wow that's just wrong. Those antlers wouldn't leave my sight though. The same thing happened to my dad years ago at a butcher shop
