    About 10 years ago I helped track one hit in the leg. He ran forever and bedded. We found him alive in a brush pile. The hunter who'd shot him day before put a kill shot on him in his bed. The more blood the better. You never know.

    Why push the buck to the next property?

    His story says the deer is still alive.

    Bummer man. I think the deer is alive. Good try on the recovery. Hope you run into him again.

    He still hasn't shown back up on any of the cameras but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I would have called in a tracking dog but i have none close and it just wasn't in the budget.

    A good tracking dog and handler will not charge you... I don't know what state your hunting in but more then 3/4 of them is actually illegal for a tracker to charge for tracking a deer...
