I had a different take than others. They crashed, they died, and finally figured it out. Ben could be still alive. There never was an island, never was a jacob, never was a smoke dude. Hard pill to swallow, that they spent 6 years and it was nothing. Even I.
I know some people who think this as well, but I'm not sure how y'all are making this conclusion when Jack's Dad stated that it was all real.
catholics version of purgatory?? I don't know. I was with ya until they showed Jack at the wreck site and no-one around in the end. Just wreckage.
I took the wreckage scene during the credits as just a "full circle" or "this is how far we have come" parting shot.
I read an article today from a person that had crazy access to the writers, producers, actors, etc. She said a source told her the Man in Black's name was Samuel. Here is a link if you are interested. As for them all dying at the original crash, I didn't take that away from the show at all. The footage at the end of the show during the credits was as Hooker described a full circle situation. I mean really what else is there to show at this time. If you noticed in one of those wreckage shots the clothes were all organized and stuff like that.
Did anyone else see the significant Chistian symbolisms. Remember back when they decided to make a church on the island?? kinda strange.
Yeah, and the guy that was shepherding all the "Christians" to "heaven" was named Christian Shepherd. Kate even made a reference to this.
I just watched it, we had technical difficulties in our area. Wrapped it up nicely, but left alot unsaid and most of the show was unimportant. Season 1+2 were BY FAR my favorites, and once time started moving and whatnot...it got to mythical to me.
This is what bothers me the most. There are so many storylines that would just so irrelevant. It could have been so much better, but with that said, I still enjoyed the show immensely.
As did I, Am i the only one that feels like they died the moment that the island moved...in season 4 or 5? Everythign seemed decently realistic until then.
Ok, so after 3 pages we still don't know what the island is, if it was real, who died and when they died. I wonder even if Ben died.
BC, My impressions, and this seems to be backed up by the actors on Jimmy Kimmel following the finale, everything that happened in seasons1-5 real life (island, flashbacks, flashforwards). In season 6 island time was real, but the flashsideways stuff was limbo/purgatory whatever you want to call it, but it was after all the characters had died. In this limbo world they would have to "awaken" or become aware of their life and death before they are able to pass onto Heaven, bliss or whereever your belief system lies. With Ben showing up in the limbo world yes he died, however he had not let go/found redemption or whatever so he felt like he could not "move on" with the rest of the group. Now as to what the island is, they answered that in the Richard episode. It is a cork that keeps the evil from getting out into the world. This evil was personified by the Man in Black. Siman I have not seen anyone with the thought that they all died when the island moved. So yeah you're the only one. :D
