I lost my tree strap for my HS harness. Looked everywhere for it and when the next hunting season came around I was scouting and saw this strap hanging in a tree. I got so mad because I thought somebody was hunting my ground then I remembered "Hey didn't I lose a strap last season, and didn't I have my climber in that same tree?" LOL

I've been lucky to not lose anything of value, but did find a watermelon in the middle of a clear cut in the fall. Picked and enjoyed at home.

Not me but my dad shot a doe a few years back and when we found it his back tag (we were in WI) had fallen off we back tracked all day and never found it. I ended up tagging the deer and everything was fine. He ended up having to go get all new tags for rest of the season. Well next spring we were shed hunting and sure enough we found it 10 feet from the base of the tree he shot the doe from. Wasnt worth anything by then but still it was funny to see how confused he was.

I've never found anything that I lost, but while hunting the edge of an urban area a couple years ago I spotted the backstrap of a 1911 sticking out of the leaves. Picked it up and was figuring I just found a murder weapon........ damn airsoft gun!!!! Man that thing looked and felt real at first glance.

Found, stuck bulldozer, pot with a tree growing through it, rear end/diff (?) [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'm not interested in hearing about lost virginity.

Ps, OP stated hunting accessory, my error.

I lost my sense of adventure for about 5 years and sat in a treestand in the Midwest too much. It was boring and I realized I needed adventure again. I found that again last fall when I picked the rifle back up after years and headed back to Ontario to roam the Canadian Shield in areas I had never seen before.

I lost a Mossberg 500 20 Ga once. Still havnt found it. I actually suspect thieves on that one.

One of my brothers lost a set of rattling antlers once, and i found them the following spring. Thought i had a sweet matched pair until i pulled them out of the leaves and they had a rope attached to them! :bash:

Ive lost and found grunt tubes a few times as well.

My second season bowhunting I shot a doe at last light she ran about 60 yds, but it was through the thickest nastiest stuff I have every came across in my life. After climbing down I began tracking on my hands and knees through briars, under logs, just nasty stuff. After finding her and getting all bloody I had to find my way out I dragged her a little ways and stopped and tried to find an easy way out.... Long story short I lost that deer for 25 mins I was convinced in the 5 mins I left it something had dragged it off

I lost my wedding ring one day setting traps behind the house. Had a pair of gloves on and it must have stuck inside when I took them off to work on the bedding of the trap. There was about 6 inches of snow on the ground at the time so as soon as it was melted we were out there looking. Sure enough, my wife found it LOL!!

I always go through panic mode when I can't find something, but usually it's right in my face.

I have forgotten where I put a trail camera and another time I lost a knife that belonged to my grandfather. I was pretty surprised when my brother came out of the woods with it in his hand. Now it's in a case and not going anywhere.
