Not really but I am so anxious to take a deer with my recurve right now. Our late bow season is going and I've managed a couple of evening sits with some cool encounters.

My 100% confident shot range is about 18 yards, a really big deer I'd say about 23 yards. I can't get anything but foxes inside that range. Its funny(and depressing) how much of a difference a few yards makes with trad gear.

Couple that with the famous VA weather, todays high 70, tomorrows low 26. WTH? Anyway I've been playing cat and mouse with a certain doe group (4 does) the past couple of evenings and one of them is going to slip up soon. Still getting some bucks on cam but daylight pics are slim to none right now.

Welcome to short range hunting!! ;) No doubt you said a mouthful there but let me tell you It's very rewarding and satisfying when you do finally seal the deal. Best of luck New In getting yourself one of them doe's, I expect It to happen soon by the sounds of It.

I got my first this year with the longbow. What a rush. Stick with it, and you will drop one.

NOTHING to be ashamed of....if you're proficient at that range (out to 23yds).

That would be the TOPS, for me. I haven't taken a shot over 17yds all year.

    Good luck to you.
