Sorry to hear about the job loss. Depending on where you are financially if you can afford to look around for the right job instead of taking something just for the sake of having a job I have found that things like this often can turn out to be a blessing! Bestof luck to you.

Sorry to hear that man. It really stinks.. looking for a new job really stinks too... At least your looking at the bright side of things and spending more time with your daughter will really make things easier to bear. Best of Luck finding a new job

I was let go from a bank in 2008 when the mortgage industry began to tank (I was a mortgage lender). I was really down about it initially but it didn't take me long to find something else what I actually like better. Keep your head up.

Sounds like it may be a blessing to have your sanity back and weekends with the family.

Im sure brighter things are in the future for you. Good luck in the search and think about turning a hobby into a little extra cash. Ie teaching Friends or the neighbors kids archery?

I have a friend in camphill PA that always looking for good people to help him with his company at local fairs. Send me a pm if you'd like his email.

Good luck on the job search. I agree that stuff happens for a reason. Maybe you can use this as an opportunity to figure out how to turn something you really enjoy doing into a job. It's a lot easier to go to work when its not really "work".

Sorry to hear about the job, but I was in your shoes a little less than a year ago. My wife and I had our fourth miscarriage, then two days before my birthday I found out that my company was eliminating 20% of our call manager staff including me as my department had just been eliminated. I was lucky and got a severance package of nearly $50k, paid health benefits for 8 months and a month to find another job in the company. While looking internally I found a job externally and took it. That job lasted a little over two months and I had all I could take and approached the HR department as the job was not as sold to me. I left there November 15th and took a month off to hunt and then found another job in January with a great company.

My current job is low stress compared to the last two and pays more than both. Looking back I was upset losing a job with a company of 12 years but the silver lining paid off. In the end, make the most of it and find a job you love or at least can roll out of bed and enjoy doing. Goof luck and hope things come together soon.
