Looks like most of the people on here (including myself) are getting into the annual "Pre-Hunt Rut" that shows up every year just before hunting season starts. There is a lot of jousting to show dominance, the marking of territory and snorting at each other. This will all end as slowly each member has the hunting season open up in their state and they are able to focus their attention somewhere other than the keyboards on their computers.
Go knock on some doors if you're not happy with the state land. Its not going to change sitting on the couch. You got 20 days go at it.
Wish it was that easy but not in a great area to find that opportunity. May have to do some traveling this wknd
i spent all summer knocking on doors and out of 50 doors i knocked on 4 opened there land up for me. i sent them edible arrangements and call from time to time to see if they need anything done around the house or farm.
Nice thats the way to do it if they do allow you on just offering to help around the farm or house if they need it. I got on some state land that was lottery drawing to get on so there is only 30 people hunting huge area but I still may go around to some house and see if I can get on some private land as well.
Give the door knocking a shot!! Gained another 5 & 6 acre spot that both backup to large tracts...knocking on doors as well this summer. I can see the dominant bucks swelling their necks on the Internet here as well IV.
