Honestly i just use the one that came with my bow. I didnt realize there was a reason to upgrade. Can someone shed some light on stabilizers? Their importance, advice etc.

Limbsaver makes great dampening products. My are going to need a 8" most like 10" to really improve accuracy and most people don't want that on there hunting bow. Id stick with the Limbsaver

Ktech tech twin 5's on both my bows! Better weight and balance and much less vibration.

Really a stabilizer needs to be 8-10" to actually stabilize. Shorter hunting stabilizers are more for noise/vibration dampening. I use a 6" Stokerized EV1 on my hunting bow. I tried a 5" Octane, a 7.5" Octane, and this Stokerized on my Assassin. I like the Stokerized best.

I switched to a bstinger, 8" pro hunter with 8ounces on the end. I switched from the s coil, and has tightened my long range groups a little. Well that or just shooting more has helped

I tried my sons S coil in my bow and didn't care for it. It just didn't add much weight but did quite my bow some. I've got a 6" B stinger sport hunter with 3 1oz weights on it and LOVE that set up.

What the heck does a stabilizer do. Is that what the open threads are on the front of my bow?

Yes.... They reduce vibration and help stabilize your bow. Target shooters have like 2'+ stabilizers to help improve accuracy. I like a heavier one on my bow.

Best thing to do is go to a shop and try some out on your bow and see what one feels right. Shoot long ones, heavy ones, a mixtures of weight and length until you find what feels best for you.
