....gun cabinet. Yeah, I know they can be inexpensive to buy but what fun would that be?? My uncle and I have always been fairly close, and we're wanting to build this together. What makes him really fascinating is.........he is completely blind. Yeah. I know. This is a man who rebuilt his entire garage after his first one burned down, and he only lost 1 finger in the process. Table saw got him. Yeah, you read that right. He's blind and operating a table saw. And a jointer. Planer. Router. It doesn't matter to him. He knows what it's supposed to look like and he makes it. So anyway, I started talking to him about it a week or so ago, and he told me today he would love to help make one. So we're going to do it. I've drawn up some simple plans for one which will work, but I'm looking for some actual plans. I've been doing some searching online and have found some, but most are more sophisticated than I really care for. Anybody know where I might find some detailed plans?
Mo....If I were going to undertake this, I'd make one I could attach to the wall (instead of a floor model). Less wood. Less time. Less complicated. Unique. Good luck.
I've got some plans. I bought them a while ago. They are really simple, looks like they'll make a nice cabinet. If you like I can make a full scale copy of them at work tomorrow and mail them to you.
No plans. Simple amazing about your uncle. That's great he's still that active. Just shows what a person is capable of if they work hard. I'm curious though... how the hell does he measure?
I've been known to dabble with wood working. I know what it should look like..... but it looks like it was made by a blind person. Sounds like a cool project for you and your uncle. Good luck with it and take lots of pictures.
DoePeeSteve, his tools talk to him. So instead of reading the ruler, level or what have you, he listens to them. It's just incredible. He's taught me alot about life. I simply don't use the excuse "I can't" anymore. What reason could I possibly have??
