Well I'm in the market to purchase a new bow, not to replace my CRX, but for a back up and possibly for my fiancee (soon to be wife). She's expressed her interest in archery, but I don't want to spend a crap load on a bow if she doesn't gain interest in it. What my question is, what are Good bows on the market that have alot of adjustment to them when it comes to draw length and draw weight? I'm a go home or go big kind of person when it comes to purchasing guns and bows so I'm not looking for something cheap, but a bow both her and I can use.. She's comfortable shooting anything around 45 lbs where as I'll shoot up to 70 lbs.. The more adjustments the bow has the better.

Mission carries several bows with a lot of adjustment as well as PSE. I don't think you will find any high end bows that have that kind of adjustment. Most only have a 10 pound range. My opinion would be find a good deal on used high end bow for you and by your girl a Mission Craze.

If you're hoping to have a future shooting partner, let her pick the bow that feels best to her. If it doesn't fit her and she loses interest, you're going to end up with a compromise bow that probably won't meet your needs either. jmo

I always recommend Bear, they have some great entry level bows like the Apprentice that have a huge range of adjustability. That being said, the most important thing is to go to a shop to try several different bows and see what she likes.

You can't go wrong with the Mission line of bows for your fiancé. Also, check out the Mathews Jewel.
I recently just bought the Halon 6 and love it. That would be a good one for you to check out!

I bought my son an Infinite Edge by Diamond last April and liked it so much I bought myself one 5 days later. He was 12 yrs old, 5'9" and 85# last April. Fast forward 11 mos and he's 13 yrs old, 6'1" and 115#. He shoots state level competitive and that bow has taken him from 27"DL and 25# to 29.25"DL and 50#.

I had to take a vacation from a vertical bow after double shoulder surgery in 2004 and shoot a xbow. When my son got so involved I wanted to go back to a compound too. It allowed me to tinker with weight and draw until I found my sweet spot without breaking the bank, yet when deer season came I was at 68# and 28" draw and took a doe at 35 yds.

I just bought a Matthews No Cam yesterday but could have been fine with the IE. Don't know if I'm gonna sell the IE, keep it as a backup or turn it into a bowfishing rig. It has an infinite draw setting for bowfishing. It will always be special though because it gave me an avenue to get back into vertical without being scared of ruining my shoulder surgeries.

I'll be getting a New Breed Archery GX2 shortly. Lots of features to the bow, nice draw and solid back-wall.

Should take a look at them.

I am in the same position as you I am thinking of going with the a mission. They have great adjustability and for around the $500 dollar mark all set to go brand new that's pretty hard to beat

Thanks for the suggestions I will def. Keep this all in mind. When I get my tax return back I'll take her to look at some bows and see what she likes.. Unfortunately when i asked her about it, she was hinting at a crossbow, so we will see.

I would say buy a used bow for your wife and used back up bow for yourself. Having to adjust one bow for both of you to use sounds like a real pain IMO

Nothing wrong with a crossbow, just be careful she doesn't shoot you with it, lol.

The above times infinity. Switching bows out isn't just changing the draw weight. You'll have different anchor points, peep site levels, draw lengths, etc. It's a pain.

Last April my 12 yr old was the same height as me. We were 5'10". His arms were 2" longer apiece but my shoulders were much broader. On paper we came out to the same DL, but in reality he was 1" longer. I thought it would be close enough and we could share. WHAT A PAIN! It only lasted 5 days because I couldn't find the bow in stock any earlier.

Fast forward 11 mos and he's 6'1" and his DL is 2" longer. I'm comfortable at 28" and he's at 30". He's got monkey arms. LOL!
