I was going to do a Polymer build but got a sweet deal on a digital camo upper/lower at the time and went the other direction. I would love to see someone put on through some serious shooting.

If just hunting go with the bolt. My opinion. I picked up a savage axis for cheap a while back for the same reason and I love it.

I picked up a savage axis in 223 last night. Put 15 rounds through it today and am grouping nicely at 100 yds. Need to adjust my scope a few clicks as I'm hitting about 4 inches left. I am happy with my decision and I will be buying lots of ammo with the money I saved. I am researching what I want in an ar still and will save up to build my own. This way I'll have 1 of each haha. Coyotes beware!

I went with the 223 due to ammo prices and availability. I see 223 ammo everywhere. I paid 300 for the gun. Could have gotten it cheaper but I like the owner of the gun shop and like giving him my business.
