In northern AR where I hunt the ticks and chiggers are very, very thick and since the repellent you buy is so expensive and doesnt even work that great for the price that you pay.I was wondering if any of you have a recipe for your own spray????

You must be using the wrong spray! Treat your cloths permethrin and it will last for at the least a month. Longer if you don't wash your cloths after every use.

If you want a tick, chigger, bug repellant just go to a farm supply store and buy sulfur. That's what I used when I was a kid on the farm and never had any bites. Stinks to beat hell though......

for ticks - It is called pemethrine. You buy it in concentrate about 6 dollars at a farm store. Mix your own and it will go a long way. Spray your clothes and let them dry a couple of days. It will not come off in the washer until about 3 - 4 washes or more.

Mix it in a spray bottle.

Get the permethrin, it not only repels but kills ticks.

No idea. Nor do I know if there is any health issues from using it. Maybe that why I twitch and stutter.

Are you guys spraying your everyday work clothes (if you work in grass at all) too or just hunting stuff?

I spray my outdoor cloths. At least my pants. I have found just spraying from the knee down works great unless you are going into the bush.

Sawyers Permethrin works for me. I treat my hunting clothes at the beginning of the season . Lasts for 6 weeks or 6 washings. I usually retreat every 4 weeks during tick weather.

I'm not cheap, but I go through a lot of the stuff. Buying the concentrate, you can make 20 gallons of your own Sawyers for a fraction of the cost
