I live in Champaign and i've been calling people and visiting their homes. I've recently began sending out letters in hopes of being less intrusive (as opposed to having a stranger show up at the door step and say "Hi, can i hunt"?) lol I've tried public land, but some of the closest public land (Kickapoo) seems to be filled to the brim. I know its a shot in the dark, but thats a shot im willing to take...i really need something bad and am willing to do just about anything it would take ... chores, firewood, property upkeep, etc...
Did you end up finding anything? I'm lucky enough to be hunting a property about 1.5 hours south or Champaign. Salem il. I lucked out this year. My uncle included me in on his hunting privilege.
