Next year I am headed to Colorado for an OTC DIY archery in either Durango or Pagosa Springs area. (if anyone has any advice or tips for that hunt that would be appreciated) But on to the thread at hand. In 2017 I hope to make a trip to either Kansas or Ohio for an archery trip to include my wife. I have looked at many outfitters and Ive found that different outfitters have the same photos. I don't know what to believe, anyone can post anything to make money. First off Im not expecting some P&Y and I do not want to hunt in a high fence pen. I want an open range deer. Ok lets stay on course. So out of all the outfitters that I looked at I figured on a price of $1500-$3500 depending on how catered you want it. I know how to hunt and don't need someone to hold my hand. But I don't want to spend that kind of money for someone to drop me off on a shot out creek bottom. So I guess what my ultimate question is Does anyone know of any reputable outfitters in Kansas or Ohio that I could consider. Also which state would you choose over the other and why. And yes I know the whole myth of there being deer in these states. There's also no deer in Texas, Only ranches that farm them, so it seems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and priceless. I hope that I could return the favor in some way to someone.
Check out Southern Ohio Outfitters. I'm hearing good things about them and they are posting some impressive bucks on their Facebook page.
Ohio bowhunting outfitters. Very reasonable, very personable, great food, great experiences, great hunting. 4300 acres of whitetail heaven in Knox and licking counties. I have been with this outfitter twice now as I just returned from a five day trip Nov 9-13. I shot my buck the first morning of the hunt. My hunt was $2300 meals lodging included, $150 for a tag. I am already planning a trip for either the 2016 or 2017 season. It is not a world class lodge but it is comfortable and warm and the owners make it feel like home! If you would like to pm me I can give you all the info you want including numbers deer shot this year etc.

Ohio - Full bore outfitter, Matt is a great guy. Also from what I have seen killing buck with Brad snow I did DIY elk hunt in Durango last year found a area that had a ton of fresh sign we where just a touch to early. It not very easy to find a elk when there not making any noise and when its 70 degrees out. Can show you where we went
Thanks coheley. Pm sent about CO. I did did look up the earlier mentioned outfitters. Nice pics and not bad prices. I can't wait to sit next to a northern giant. Body wise at least. The deer where I'm at full grown in the wild walking # is about buck 200 max 150 north of me. And the does sit around 90- 120. I was once told by a trucker from Ohio that the deer down here look like little dogs compared to the deer up there. It will be fun either way. Thanks again for the info.
here is the buck that I shot with Ohio Bowhunting outfitters last week. I also took a lot of pictures of the lodge and other facilities just for this purpose.
There is an outfitter in my area that does great work! Here's their website! Hunt Masters Lodge - Hunt Whitetails, Turkey and Waterfowl in Illinois, Missouri and Ohio - Experience The Hunt Of A Lifetime
