Well after 6 years hunting the same property my worst fear came true this Saturday. I met my hunting buddy at the property Saturday morning all loaded down with supplies to get all of our stands ready, plant food plots etc. The farmer showed up and told us that in two weeks ALL of the trees with be taken off this property. I feel like someone punched me in the stomach. I have no other properties to hunt so I am reaching out to you guys in hopes that someone knows of some property available around NE Ohio.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I've been in that situation before but thankfully I've always had multiple properties I could hunt. Knocking on doors and boots on ground is my best suggestion. There may be leasing options available check newspapers. Look on boards in local bow/gun stores, talk to local taxidermists, all good options to possibly get some good leads. Hope you find a spot.
A lot of great public land to hunt all over Ohio. See what's around you and areas your willing to travel too, I been hunting for 7 years now on public in Ohio with great luck, took a while just like any new spots but a lot of scouting and moving around and you'll get the deer figured out.
don't give up on that property. in a few years the brush will be growing and the deer will be in there like crazy. just take a break from it this year but don't give it away unless you want to hook me up with that farmer to take your spot. i'll be much appreciative.
I know many people in NE Ohio...where abouts you hunting? Take the suggestion someone had and go knock on doors. You'll be surprised what happens.
I was hunting in Green close to the Akron/Canton airport. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to knock on doors as well but with 4 kids my time is severely limited.
Bring the kids along, use them as leverage lol need to feed the family with venison Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
