I am looking to buy a new bow, the one I have now is over 20 years old. I am wanting a good bow that does not require a lot of maintenance , with a draw wt. of 50-60 pounds and with 80% let off. I am looking at a new z7.what do you think , can you help?

Just go to a local shop and shoot as many bows as you can get your hands on. Let the bow pick you.

Go shoot as many bows as you can get your hands on. The Z7 is a great bow but you have to pick the right one for you. I passed on the Z7 and bought an SR71. Everyone has their opinions, likes and dislikes. Shopping for a new bow is half the fun.

The guys are right , shoot as many bows as you can , just don't let the "Big Advertising"
make you think you are buying a lesser bow if it's not theirs.

forget the names and find the one that YOU shoot the best.
but if you are stuck on the z7 and are in illinois go to gat guns they are about 50% off retail right now. they do have hoyt and pse's also. which are both great bows.imo

I think that what ever bow fits and feels good will work for you. The Hoyt bows have some really reasonable prices on there new 2011 bows. The Hoyt Rampage is one that i would really look at because it is afordable and also not as much money as the carbon bows. But ultimately it is your decision because there are other good bows out there:moose:.
