It's been years since I've done any deer hunting because I ended up in a hit and run accident that left me in a wheelchair. I'm now trying to get back into it. There's a state park in north central Illinois that caters to disabled hunters. I'm trying to find someone up here who'd be interested in maybe hunting together.
Welcome to the site. Im sorry to hear about your accident. Where at in Northern IL are you located? There are some members on here from that area including myself except im down at college now. But im sure someone else will chime in good luck.
Thanks all. I live in the western Chicago burbs. I saw on the DNR site they have some good accessibility at Shabbona Lake, but am open to wherever reasonable. Just looking to find a way into the game.
Welcome to the site! You might also want to look into Midewin National Tallgrass in Joliet. I know they have several stands setup and I believe that several of them are handicap accessibile. I have a father that is a quadrapalegic and wish that I could get him intersted in hunting. I really wish that I had some property that I could get you out on. If I hear of anything I will be sure to get in cotact with you. Glad to hear that you are giving it a shot! Best of luck t you!
