I would be glad to show you some spots to hunt here in maine, just know in advance that the whitetail hunting is not that great in the northeast. My parents live in a good part of the state and i already have a ladder stand hung their, and their is alot of public areas to hunt in the vicinity.I was hoping to hunt their a little more this year as i haven't really put alot of time in that area.

I think you are right about the guide for the canucks here in maine. I had a friend who had some family coming over from Denmark to hunt whitetail deer. he paid a guide 500 bucks to be their guide , which basically meant if they ran into a situation where they needed a guide he was available to show up, but other than that he didn't do anything for them.

Not really topic related but where are you in NB? I'm down here near the St. Stephen border. Too bad i didn't have a little bit more land or you'd be welcome to hunt right out at my place.

i'm just across the puddle from you (campobello island) but my hunting camp is in st.goerge.
i hear you guys have a very healthy population of whitetail over there now!!
    good for you guys!!..
we have way too many bears and a great population of moose, however our deer herd is in seriouse trouble, in most zones, a few are doing better then ever, just depends on how bad the area has been raped by irving.

Yeah I can just about see campobello from my house! Here in Eastport we are overpopulated but just about everywhere else the numbers are suffering pretty badly for one reason or another, I think we have heavy winter losses and then there's always gonna be the guys that shoot enough deer for 3-4 people. Working on getting an expanded archery zone down here in Eastport seeing we can't shoot does down here and the amount of deer is just rediculous. The other night i counted about 30 does on my road which is only about 1 mile long. But good luck! Maybe next year we could do some sort of hunt together, swap a deer hunt for a bear hunt or whatever!

that's an amazing amount of deer!!
just seing that would be like traking a trip back in time for me!
i only see numbers like that later in the winter/early spring when the deer are herded up and in the feilds.
i'd defineatly be interested in swapping a bear hunt for a deer hunt for next year. or you could even apply for the n.b. moose draw our province has a set amount of tags set aside for the non-resident hunters.
i don't do it for a living but i do have a n.b. guides licence so you'd be covered there.

Yeah, deffinetly something to think about, you'd have to talk to my father to sort out all the technicalities and all that. Maybe this spring or so you could make the trip over come to the family restaurant and have a few beers and a bite to eat and chat it out.

On second thought, after looking at the price on a moose tag, maybe i better stay on my side of the river! lol But like i said this spring talk to my dad via phone or in person (he's not too internet savvy) if you're interested in hunting down here for a few days next season.

yeah the moose tags are real pricy..even for residents, bear tags are much cheaper
especially considering the amount of time you get to fill your tag. 1 licence covers spring, fall bow,and fall gun season.
a chat over a good meal and a cold beer sounds good!
what resturaunt are you speaking of?

in n.b. us guides are supposed to be in site of our clients at all times, we don't all stick tight to that rule it's common to drop your client off at a stand location and return later.
    what's the rules over there?
