I tried google and all I get is eberlestock an kifura. Anybody have a bag they recommend that they forget they have on and once they start climbing?

i have looked many many times for a new pack. I have looked at the expensive ones, mid range ones, but i just dont find one that fits my needs better than the $20 Day pack from bass pro... Its the Red Head Day Pack i believe. When i use it, its not loaded heavy, normally a few bottles of water , a pee bottle, range finder, knife, phone, maybe a jacket, little odds and ins and maybe a water proof bag to put stuff in incase of rain. It has one large compartment, 2 side bottle holders, a little front compartment, a little bigger front pocket. Very simple bag, very cheap bag, but ive had it for about 3 years and its still in like new condition. I will use it throughout the year when walking the woods and on maybe 3 or 4 hunts during the year. For quick hunts where i dont have to go far i use a waist pack. Bring enough for my range finder, knife, phone, water. Again its a cheap one and has done me fine.
I struggled to find a backpack that held up, was tough, functional, not with too many pockets. My brother is on the National Guard and he was hunting with a military back pack. I bought one at an army surplus store, $60 and it was one of the best equipment purchases I've ever made. The stitching is heavy and it straps on great.

ugh the military one is the mots uncomfortable for me. I haven't found a good daypack, but id like one that breathes my back = )
so i went on a binge buy as to get ready for the upcoming season(long away but cant wait) and got some stuff off of camofire. great site btw just hate that have to pay shipping on every item.
Treestand hunting? Any backpack has always been fine for me... For a hunt where you are walking a lot... I still haven't found a great pack besides external frame versions.
I just bought an old ALICE pack that I'm going to do a few mods on for hunting. For starters, I'm swapping out the straps & belt for MOLLE versions. Can't wait to get working on it

The straps and back padding are excellent the pictures on the web don't even justify this pack! I picked mine up about a month ago for 50% at my local gander mountain. There are all sorts of pockets and there's actually straps that are hidden that come out on the side which I had my tree stand hooked on to for carrying and worked excellent! Also they have straps to hook the bow onto as well. Like I said the web pictures don't justify it at all so if you want I can take pictures of mine so you can see all the pockets and hidden straps.

I just bought the Red Head hybrid Hunt Pack for $44.97. It look like a great bag and not bad for the price.
I carry a Camelbak Ranger XT. It is similar to the Mule in size, but camo, and a soft fleece like material. It has a 100 oz bladder, and room for enough junk to last me all day. I could attach my bow to it if I get creative with a few straps. I have my quiver attached to the pack. It has really been a good piece of equipment, if you can find one somewhere. If I were buying a new one today, I'd probably pony up for the Badlands Superday pack. Looking at one in the store, it seems very well made, with useful organizers and a comfortable harness. I've got three different packs that i use for different situations. I have a three day water proof large pack I've used since 2000. My second pack is a large fanny pack with lots of compartments and backback straps. My new favorite is the one i have used extensively the last year and its sweet!! And very very cheap. Its more of a day pack but has lots of extras. Its a tactical bag that wal mart sells for 20 bucks. Has a large Main compartment,medium compartment with small zippered compartments and dividers inside to organize your gear. There's two zippered compartments in the large main comp. There's two zippered compartments on top for other things and one is padded for glasses or rangefinder. Its camel back compatible has molle webbing for attaching other gear/pouches and comes in two different colors. Tan or digi camo. i made an adaptor attachment with the molle web on the side and put a quiver attachment on it to move my quiver from my bow to the pack.Basicly i unzip the med compartment and hang it in the tree when I'm hunting and have access to everything i might need and never have to dig in the bottom with everything jumbled together. Its available in a bigger version but costs 40 bucks. Their also padded against your back and have grain holes in the bottom with lashing straps to tie on bulky gear!! If your looking for an awsome functional pack on a small budget this is a good one!!
