I just bought a Diamond Marquis and was wondering what sights and rests you guys would recomend? I'll be using the bow for hunting and 3d archery shoots. I'm not a real serious shooter so I don't need the best of the best. Just looking for something with good functionality and a mid price range.

I've been looking at the Quality Archery Designs Ultra rests and they seemed neat. The Octane hostage looks different, just not 100% sure on the design.

As for sights I'm not really looking at any certain one.

There is no such thing as a cheap, good sight. Save your money and buy 1 Spot Hogg and never feel the need to buy another. I like the .010, wrapped device.

That goes for their Whammy rest, too.

Agreed on the Spot Hogg but you can do just as well with the Axcel Armortech.

QAD, Whammy, Limbdriver and more are all good quality rests. Just depends on what you are looking for in a rest.

I run the the qad on my bow and have had no complaints yet. I have seen several cobra sights that are affordable and get you started wihtout breaking the bank.

The QAD LD is a great rest. If you're budget conscious I wouldn't bother with the HD model but the LD feature is definitely worth having. Personally I'd stay away from the Hostage. The environment is just too brutal up here for plastic components. Cobra sights are an excellent option if you don't want to drop major $$$ into a sight and still get something that won't let you down. All my bows up here are wearing the Cobra DRM .019" 5 pin. I beat the living crap out of them every day in the field bushwhacking up and down the mountains through the brush and have yet to have a single issue with any of them.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Have you had any problems with fletching clearance on the QAD rest? Since I use fixed blade broadheads I shoot with 4" fletching and by looking at the pictures I'm a little concerned with clearance, but I watched a slow motion video of the rest and the fletching just cleared.

This year I bought a Sword Micro Sight with .10 pins. I love it, it is made with a lot more quality that others I have had. Awesome sight. I've also been looking at the QAD ultra drop away rest. It seems to be popular for a drop away.

I'm going to jump in here also. I currently shoot the QAD LD rest and the TruGlo Extreme site on my Mission Eliminator. I am selling my bow to my brother and have the Mathews Z7 on order. I really like the QAD LD but am probably going to go with the HD version. The site I have picked out is the HHA DS 5500. I am torn between a 3 pin and a single. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions.

If set up right there will be no clearence issues. The only problem I ever had was with blazers contacting my buss cables with the cock feather up. I never had any problems with basic vanes.

Personally, I think for the $$$$ it's very hard to beat a Sword Sight, take your pic, any of them are good, go to Sword Archery's website and hit their online dealer for the BEST deal.....

As far as rests go, I think a Trophy Taker Pronghorn is another "tough to beat" reasonably priced piece of equipment. I have both Sword Sights, and TT rests on both my shooter bows.
