Hello, I have just joined the forum and have a question. I have rechargable 6 volt batteries that I use on my deer feeders and am wondering if I can use them on any of the trail cameras. I am looking to purchase several trail cameras under 100.00 each. Any ideas?

I know all the DLC Covert cameras will run on a external 6 volt battery.

I had an old Moultrie i bought in 2006 that ran on 6 volt lanterns, but it stopped working around 2010.

You would be better off just purchasing one of the longer lasting AA battery cams (like the Covert MPE5 or MP6). Youll be changing your feeder batteries alot more often then the camera batteries.

The Red 40 does take great night shots. The Black 60 and MP6 take decent night pics.

Personally I am not a fan of any night IR pics so night picture quality is not a deal breaker for me as long as I can see the size of the buck it's good.

A good set up will result in good night photos. Th IR's really get a lot of help from a good back drop or some foilage to bounce the light around.
