I bought the cheapest Trail Cam that Walmart had, a Tasco for about 50 bucks. This is what I found nibbling on my corn pile. I also had a mineral block for desert. There was a big one and a smaller one.

They have the wildgame cameras with infrared for $59.00 at Wal-Mart. I bought the Tobasco for $50, then I returned it for the wildgame camera for just $9 more. It has a longer range of photos, the photos look better, and it has the infrared which helps with no scaring the game away. Check one out next time you're in Wal-Mart.

The next time I go into Walmart I may get another model if I can find one near this price. It would be hard for me to pay 150 to $200.00 for one and then leave it in the woods for fear of someone taking it.:violin: If I get one I paid 50 dollars for and lose it , I won't like it but it will be easier on me mentally. :D

I can't help you with the model because I threw the package away and I can't find the model number on the camera itself, only that it is Tasco.

I have always heard the infrared was better because it didn't scare them but the big guy had 18 pictures taken of him and he stayed there for over 20 minutes. He didn't look scared. The little guy wasn't there long. The time between his last pic and the big guy was a little over a minute so I think the big guy scared him off, since you I didn't see both of them in a pic. The last pic of the little guy showed him with his tail up and I guess he left so he wouldn't get it beat.

The main thing I want to see is how big the deer is and what time he came by, so I guess a cheap one will suit me fine. I don't know about the batteries and how long they will last but this one uses 4 C cells and it says they will last about 90 days, but I know it will depend on how many pictures it takes. I guess I will know about the batteries soon enough and that may make me want to get an IR model.

I just hope I can put that big guy in the freezer. I really like deer meat. I ate so much last year I started running out in front of cars at night

Nice buck. I'll have to check Walmart next time I'm there.
