If you are hunting anywhere south of Mt. Sterling...definitely follow Christine's advice...I would take 72 all the way to Pittsfield in Pike Co, then highway 107 runs straight north to Mt Sterling, less than 20 miles I'd guess...so you could have 4 lane all except the last little bit. You guys are hitting this weather perfect, raining for over 2 straight days - won't be done until Noon today, then 33 degrees tonight. Reports around Adams/Brown are that buck movement has been well above normal for early Oct. Good Luck...and jump a few toward the Brown/Adams border if you can
This is the way we go. Seems to work the best. That drive down 136 from McLean seems to take FOR-EVER (especially at 3 am) but it's the best way fo' sho'. Have a safe trip my friend, and dont' forget your blaze orange for this weekend!

I just left Pike about 20 minutes ago and the rain had just let up......saw a few does in a cut corn field off 96 down by Pleasant Hill. Weather seems perfect for you guys!
