I am in the wonderful state of WA where you MUST pick your hunting weapon of choice and stick with it, I have recently converted from modern, this will be year two. But... I have the question, what long draw bow? I know its like boxers or briefs? Hanes or fruit..
I have a Diamond Dead Eye that I bought new changed a few things, shoot nearly daily, shot a deer last year, but just don't know if this is the right bow.. just can't stay consistant with it. I have a 30.5 draw, the dead eye is maxed out at 30". Super short brace height, but feels fast. I like it but just wonder if there is something that may be better. never shot anything else, cause everyone I know is built like a T-Rex with arms as long as my elbows, shops... well busy and need to change a bunch a crap for me and act like its too time consuming. Then each shop just wants to sell you their premiere product.
Have looked into Mathews Z9 but holy smokes... 8 1/4" brace? MR8 looks awfully heavy. Bear anarchy would set up for me.
Does the 1/2" really make a difference other than its maxed out in length?
What to do?? Lookin for tips..

    thanks

There are many bows out there with longer DL that match your needs. Are you looking for longer brace heights or ATA?

Also what do you mean by you MUST pick your hunting weapon of choice and stick with it? Last I checked and knew you could do both?

Ya I don't honestly know, I think a more moderate brace height, does not the shorter telegraph shooter flause more than a bit longer??
WA if you get a deer tag ya gotta pick archery or modern or muzzle, elk: archery, modern, muzzle, eastside of state or westside of state.

There are a ton of bows that go to 31". You don't need one of the long-draw bows at all. The Z9 and the CPXL are two that I'm considering because they go to 32" and I'm at 31.5. Those are the tough ones to find.

Just did a quick search on the websites of 3-4 major companies and found 6 or 7, not including the two you mentioned.

    I'd go with the Z9.

I have friend you shoots the Mathews LX. They don't make it any more but its a long draw bow. You could probably find it used.

PSE Freak (or the new Freak Max) is a great bow with up to a 33" draw.
