Where did everyone go? Seems like alot of the guys that frequented this site aren't active. Is this site on the decline or what? Anyway how is everyone's season going? Mine has been slow but I am way behind on scouting and property I have available to me.
Work/life seems to get in the way for me so I haven't been on much until a couple days ago. Things are finally slowing down a little so I will finally get to hunt now. Kind of hoping this thread will pull a few old familiar faces out of the woodworks that I haven't seen in a while. Tim
Eh, forums are like that, the older members get bored, family responsibilities take over, etc, etc... I've been on a lot of forums over the years and they are all like that. This one has stayed stronger and longer lived than like 95% of them out there from what I've seen.
Yea it was thriving here back when I first started. I had been inactive here for the last 2 or 3 years but glad to come back and keep things going.
I have been around four years. In that time I have gone from one kid to three kids. One of whom is a 9 week old baby boy. I have tried to stay active on here but don't have as much free time. I killed a nice 8 point on the last Saturday of October. Only hunted once since then. Family commitments and home repairs have kept me busy since then. Hoping to be out this evening if I can fix the leaking toilet in time.
I imagine I'm considered a "long timer" here, and there are numerous folks that seem to have disappeared. I still enjoy getting involved on the forums each hunting season though, but I do vanish when trout season gets underway!
Only joined couple years back but I enjoy this site more than any other. I imagine it was more like small town back in the day. Everyone probably knew everybody. I doubt you're that old JZ and bet ya a new BHOD hat I'm older than you. I prefer the term "experienced" rather than old timer. Life gets in the way and we all fall off from time to time.
I'm still kicking! Glad to get back on here and have some time to get out in the woods! I see some familiar names for sure but also many who used to be very active are no longer here or active. Plenty of new faces though. Hope you are doing just as good!
It was like a small town here. We had a good handful of very active bow hunters. Either way we all share the same passion and get to share our experiences here.
I wonder if a lot of people are like me and just read most of the posts without responding to many... I came around when the old Deer and Deer Hunting Forum was starting to decline. I really enjoyed that forum but didn't post that much on there either.
The phrase "long timer" was used, not "old timer", which is relative to age. You can be young and still be a "long timer" on the forums. Just saying.
