Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I've had trouble logging in since the new changes. I've also been quite busy. I've had to move all my stands out of the property in JoDaviess county IL. My buddy leased all his land to an outfitter, I guess he needed the money. So now I just got back from WI where I was hanging stands near WI Dells. It's good to be back and I'll try to get on hear regularly now.
Don't get me started. I broke in the string got it all set up. Sighted it in,everything was sweet, tight groups, then disaster. Apparently my brass nocks on the string were too close together, pinching the arrow nock (I shoot off-the- string). well the arrow fell off a split second before I released, dry fired it and exploded the string. Luckily the cable held so the limbs are OK. I should have the new string on and broken in by the weekend. Also I may change to a string loop finally, I may have to get a caliper module for my Free-flight release.
My friend, I hated to hear that on our phone conversation. It'll be as good as new soon and I want to hear how sweet she shoots. I also heard about your prop in Jo Davies and was sorry for ya bud. I know you enjoyed yourself there. Regardless, this will be your season!
Thanks Rob, I just got back from my old haunts in WI on the river. Set up 4 stands. The prop in JD has bigger deer but when I was taking down my stands in the rain I realized what with all the corn and tall grass, early season would be a b***h if you shot a deer on the far end of the prop.
Ahhh.. the good Doctor.. no one will miss hunting with you more than I. You'll do fine though.. and at least you got a turkey in JoDavies.
Well.. that becomes ALOT harder now since your not just down the street. You have to remember I have 3 other guys on that lease.. getting you in on a bad wind for a eve hunt is one thing.. a whole weekend is something altogether. But I'm sure I can get you out in the late season for a weekend. Almost guarantee it.. after the gun seasons.
not to speak for him, but since i'm shooting the same bow this year, its a seriously sweet shooting bow, quick and quiet... though a touch heavier than many others... that said, the limbs are THICK like tree trunks (probably accts for much of the weight)... I've read on "another site" that they are pretty tough on strings and cables (i think andy would atest to that eh??)... I'll be getting new ones at the end of the season...
Hey Doc! We'll perhaps have to hook up sometime this fall being I actually live by the Dells. As far as your release goes, I've shot a loop with a Winn for years now, but if you can't get used to closing it with your finger on the loop.....a Dremel will take care of that real quick by cutting off one side of the block. In doing so, you will then have a LOOP HOOK style Winn!
