I can shoot well out to 60. The situation would dictate my maximum range on an animal. The buck I killed last fall I ranged at 32 yds, seemed like a chip shot as much as I had practiced. My set ups never usually allow for anything over 35 - 40 yards.

15 yards... I could see give or take 4-5 miles in any direction. So easy, even a little kid can do it!;)

Any other things i should try?

40 yards is a long shot boys in the whitetail woods. Out west a lots of animals are shot at 40 years. Myself, 30 yards is max for whitetails. I do hunt out west a lot and I will shot out to 40 yard. Of course that is only if I have been putting in the time at the practice range. If I was to go today I would not shot at any animals over 20 yards!!! I guess I need to get my butt going to the practice range.
