Heck yeah! I love it. That buck and the "circle" of events that helped put you in the position to get it done is what it is all about...congrats to you.
John 175 inch bucks don't come around to much in our lives ,so when it happens, a great big pat on the back is deserving . Congrats on a deserving buck, may the Lord bless you with a few more. Rocky
Great story John! Thanks for sharing, I bet your loving KS .. living it out hunting those big mid western bucks.
Very enjoyable read, indeed! Where did you end up hitting him? Just to maybe help me find one under similar circumstances in the future...
Back a little more than I would have liked Greg, left lung and liver. Looks like the arrow may have actually deflected at a right angle off a rib. Can't blame the broadhead, it did it's job, it had completely bled out on the inside. Problem was it was one of the fattest deer I have seen in years, inside the body cavity and covering the muscles. Another question was about what might have caused the bald spot on its shoulders? A year or two ago, not sure if it was this site or the old one I posted this same question up after seeing deer on TV with it. Alot of speculation but no sold answers After killing one myself with it I can tell you, I still dont know. There is no scar tissue or bruising under it, Just looks like it was shaved .
