I been a member for a while now just have not posted a lot in the past. I going to try and step it up a notch. I'm always looking for the next best thing to make my hunt easier and better. I know there are a lot of opinions on different stands and personal preference but I would like to hear some pros/cons on lonewolf hang on stands. I own several ladder stands, a millennium m100u, two hawk kick backs, API hang on and a 59.00 ****s sporting goods xl platform stand. Early season is half day sets for me but later on I'm usually an all day sitter. I love the hawk/ millennium stands for the comfort but it does have its disadvantages when self filming. This is why I'm looking into a lonewolf. Are these stands the answer? Do they wear your lower back out on all day sits? Is there tweaks or any customizable things you can do to make it better? A buddy of mine got rid of all his stands and only uses a guidos web saddle stand and swears by it. I see some advantages to it but I feel filming would be a nightmare. Sorry for the ramble I'm the type to do a lot of research and talking to first hand users before I make a purchase.

For what it's worth I use a Lone Wolf climber. I realize it's not the hang on you are asking about but mine is very comfortable. I have done many all day sits with this stand. I think they are lightweight and very quiet when setting up and breaking down. I have a friend that has the XOP version of my Lone Wolf and he is convinced these stands are some of the best out there.

What makes them uncomfortable is there is no lower back support and some trees you cannot lean back at all. Look for a tree that kind of leans back and take a cushion or something to stick behind your lower back and the Lone Wolf is a lot better comfort wise. As far as quiet you will not beat a Lonewolf

I appreciate the responses. Like I have already mentioned, I have several different brands but I am really considering a lonewolf. I have a buddy that has been trying to get me to go with a guidos web (saddle style stand) but I love to film my hunts and can't see how it would work self filming. I may end up with a lonewolf hang on to run and gun with.

As mentioned above, the tree it goes on is the main key. I just got my lone wolf alpha hang on this year and it's my first stand of my own ever. I've been out with it about 6 times now and am using it decked out with all their accessories. That's the stick quiver, their alpha tech harness, etc.... I'm able to be in the stand with everything set, bow in hand with an arrow ready in 18 minutes from dropping the stand off my back. The biggest thing enabling that is their alpha tech harness that has the connection points for a linesman's line which makes going up the tree a ton faster.

Regardless of the setup, my experience so far is that the stand is plenty comfortable, the platform is roomy for what it is, and as mentioned previously it's very quiet. Standing or moving the seat is dead quiet. I was looking at a lot of other options but ultimately decided to pony up for the lone wolf as I had good experiences using a friend's hang-on from them last year.
