Not completely Lone Wolf related, but the good news that the patent on the cast platforms went out last year and now others are starting to produce cast platforms. I did see another company has a cast platform this year. Can't remember the name though. I almost fell out of a LW sit and climb two years ago because the platform shifted and will never own another one of their climbers. Hangs on are nice though.
Did you have the cinch straps that connect the top and bottom tightened up. Once those are tight I've never had mine move. I don't see how it could.
If that platform "shifted" you didn't have it seated correctly. I've used my sit and climb for about 8 years now, and have never had that happen.

Ok guys, to answer those asking about the shifting with the climbers. I ask everyone to take their climbers and put them on a decent sized tree, something you would normally hunt out of in the woods. Level the platform and lock it down like you normally would. Now, stand on the platform, with your back against the tree and one foot on each side of the plateform. Now lift one foot. Bet the platform rocks side to side. I contacted LW about it and they simply said I was not using the stand as directed. I have been using climbers for 20 years and this is the first stand that ever did this for me. I think the issue is that the teeth section is not wide enough. I noticed that only the first tooth or two, on the ends contacted the tree. Not sounding like a Summit homer, but if you look at their climbers, the teeth section is much wider, wrapping to the sides of the tree more and getting more teeth on the tree. I tested this on the same tree with my Summit and it would not do that. Even though it's basically hanging on the tree with no stabilizer straps like the LW's. I actually took a set of LW stabilizer straps and added them to my Summit last year and it makes that send incredibly solid and more secure. No doubt the LW's are great stands. But for me, the season that I used the one I had, it spooked me bad enough on the several times that it did this that I could never trust it. The hang ons, on the other hand, are a different animal. I will be picking up a LW hang on this season for sure.
