Thanks Scott. I have some cash squirreled away, I just may have to pick up the another handgun now knowing I have some time before I need to have the money for my anticipated stand purchases.

I bought an Alpha Assault this past year to be my cameraman stand to pack in to my single stand sights to allow me to have more of them. I liked the stand, esp the weight of it. I also ran into (twice) two instances I could have used it with sticks in an area that has no climbable trees. So I want some sticks.

I also have been given the opportunity to expand my hunting. (nice way of saying I lost some property and I need to be able to move on some new property until I figure it out)

I LOVE my Ol Man when I know where I am going. For distance and uncertainty, it's a bit much. I want to add a LW hand climber to my arsenal to fill this need.

There is a new hand climber this year, it features the Assualt platform and the hand climber top section. It weighs less than 15 pounds.

Saw that, I'm excited about it. I'd like it sooner so I can mess with it, but when it comes it'll be fine. I have an API Grand Slam Bowhunter Handclimber, but I'm sure the LW will be like night and day.

Is there a problem with the 2010 models of Lone Wolf, cause I bought a alpha hang on for 160 bucks on sale after season at Gander Mountain and I hope they are just like my other 2 I have.

A buddy of mine just bought a like new 2010 wide sitnclimb, but I've not had the time to check it out. According to him the "cams" are not machined aluminum on his China built stand. Hope he is wrong and if not, LW better be building their stands just like they always had before 2010.

There's no problems with the 2010 stands, Lone Wolf just made a business decision to move all production back to the US for this year in order to have better control of the overall quality of the products. When you're paying a premium price for a stand, they want to make sure you're getting a premium product.

Anyone who was at ATA probably saw the new castings and platforms and they look amazing. IMO they look better than anything I've seen from LW in the past. Plus they did change up the bow holder so they will accomodate parallel limb bows without having to purchase an adapter.

As Scott said, there's a new Assault Hand Climber out for this year that weighs 14 lbs, which is great for guys who like to pack light. They also widened out the base of the Assault Hang-On so it's more stable on larger diameter trees.

You can check out the 2011 catalog here - http://www.lonewolfstands.com/lone-wolf-2011-catalog.pdf

Their website will be updated with all of the new product info sometime in the next two months, and product should be available for purchase by mid-summer. :tu:

You can check out the Blog that John Mueller wrote here. It has some photos from ATA of the new platform. http://www.bowhunting.com/blog/post/Lone-Wolf-Tree-StandsBack-in-the-USA.aspx

Pretty hopeful I will be adding one of these come summer time. Looks to be a great update.

This makes no sense to me, but what do I know. The hand climbers of the past weighed 14 lbs. The Assaults of the past weighed 8.5 lbs. When and why "portable" became forgoten I will never get....
