I just got my Lone Wolf Alpha stand and 3 sticks in today. Just looking for some tricks or tips to help with easier set up? I had a semi-idea to quiet down the bungee cord hooks, just not sure how! I am looking to get about 15 or so feet up. Also is it right that if i want my stand on the left side of the sticks, with 3 of them to put the first step needs to be on the right and alternate?

Practice and practice. The first ten times I set mine up it took awhile. Start with just focusing on hanging the sticks at first the spacing will be small between the sticks this is ok. The more comfortable you get the higher you will be able to climb. The tree is your friend when climbing. setting the alpha is a breeze I hook one rope to my harness and stand and one to the stand and bow/bag. After I reach the top of my sticks and install the e-z hang hook I pull the stand up and get it set. Then once in the stand and hooked up with the overhead tree strap I pull my bag and bow up with the rope that was hooked to the stand. After one season I can set up in a decent tree at 22 feet in less then 15 minutes. You will also learn to use very awkward trees with this setup I carry three single steps to be able to get in just about any tree. But the key is practice in the off season to be comfortable when you need to hang the stand to hunt.

Tell them you want one sent for free since you ordered a Made in the USA stand and they sent you a Made in China stand instead (probably sticks too). It's the least they can do. ;)

yes, get a fourth stick. just practice setting them up, you'll get better at spacing them. you will be amazed at how you can get in some of the trees with this setup, awesome!

When they brought them back into the US they made some changes. Notice the changes they point out in this pic (like a much more versital bow holder).

I put ultimate camo on all my sticks, really quieted them down...plus they are all but invisible on most tree

agree with all the others, get a fourth stick

Buy an extra stick, Buy a few Kwik-straps instead of bungees to keep everything 100% quiet, put camo cloth tape on the sticks to help quiet them and if you are very agressive like myself then buy a 16" bicycle intertube and cut 3-3.5" strips out of it to cover the buckles on the sticks & stand. Ive climbed 100's of different trees in my stands and no matter what you will drop a strap here and there, and it will clink on something. Just a few ideas tho...

As far as the China made stands.... they are the same as the old US one buy they had some paint and prefab errors. They work the same and are still 100% quiet, the NEW USA stand is parrallel limb friendly which is a helpful design with all the new bows

Seems like tape on the sticks will be a great addition! I will have to research ultimate camo and get another stick!

Here are you a couple quick pics of how much better the sticks look with the Ultimate Camo cloth tape on... Just in case a human passerby wanders by, it'll keep the sticks from being glaringly obvious from a distance.

how much will 1 roll cover? I tried out the 3 sticks and the alpha today and it was great. I can see why LW is #1. 3 sticks and a stand in 15 min the very first try....It was so easy!

If I'm not mistaken, it took 2 rolls to do three sticks... but it's been a while since I did them. Maybe someone else can chime in and give you their experience that they can recall better...

Lets see if I can get this from memory since it been a few months.

    Hanging my sticks.
Separate stix & place straps. Put the stand on my back.
    Set 1st stick.
Set foot pegs of remaining sticks to appropriate sides.
With 1 stick in hand and remaining 2 hung on each shoulder/arm, climb on 1st stick
Place remaing sticks as you go. Noting that as I climb I attach all stix on the right side, except the top one, cinches on the left. (This makes getting down easier)
For me, stick placement works best when I put the button at my nose.
My top stick has the center peg facing the side my stand gets hung on. (typically the right, when I have a choice)
Hang stand(I don't have an LW stand, so I can't give advice there)
I can be up & ready quicker than in my climber. And with less exertion.
