Tony's was a pretty good price He just needs to lose a few inches off his big butt:p All Jeff's weight is in his big head, LOL
I'm hopeing mine is waiting for me when I get home tonight, I might be able to join in on the conversation then and learn a few things. I have a cottonwoods outdoors replacement seat I plan on using with mine. http://www.cottonwoodoutdoors.com/weathershieldseats.html
Simple fix to the whole mess, really. Toss the sit 'n climb and get yourself the hand climber top. Best bowhunting treestand on the market. You don't need no freakin' sit 'n climb. :D
You really shouldn't take it up in the tree with you also, that coould be the whole problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL:p:p:p The Donkey that is!!!!!!!!
Son -of- a !#@$ I really wish I had known of those before I bought my Summit seat. The weatherproof feature is worth it's weight in gold assuming it's as comfortable and quiet as a Summit.
Gary ...lay off my butt :p John, thanks for that link ... I will check it out ..thanks all for the input ...
The Summit seat is almost to big for the LW sit and climb.. The Cottonwoods seats are yet again bigger than the Summit. I think the Cottonwood seat will be much to big to use with the Lone Wolf. I asked them if they made one for the LW at the ATA show, they told me no.
Good to know. I agree that the Summit is almost too big. It works though. I do wish you could make it sit a bit lower though, I've got to mess with mine just a bit more to get it really set where I want it.
I'm gonna try my cottonwood on tonight. I'll let you know if it works out. First glance says it's pretty big for the stand.
I tried out the cottonwood seaty on the LW Climber tonight. It worked good climbing a tree and was very comfy sitting in. But the problem comes in when you want to nest the 2 pieces together for carrying out. The thick pad and long backrest is too bulky for my liking and it adds 4 pounds to the overall weight of the stand. I'm gonna give the LW seat a try this weekend and see how I like it. I'm gonna miss having my Hooyman saw packed in the pouch on my seat tho. I'll have to figure out some other way to grt it along.
It's funny you mention this, I've been trying to think of a way to rig a bracket that can be used for attaching it to the stand platform.
I don't have a Hooyman, but a folding Fiskars wood saw. I took one of the Summit storage bags and snapped it around the front edge of the frame on my LW hand climber. I now have a place to store my saw, bow/gear hooks, a bottle of water, snack bar, and my pull up rope. All stays attached to my stand and hangs behind my legs while on stand. Stand packs just as good as it did before. Good luck.
Can a simple bungee not attach your hooyman? thats how I attach my 10 ft hooyman to my loggy hang ons for the pack in.
I used to have a sit and climb and sold my top section and bought the handclimber top section. Like it much much much more. Lighter and my comfortable. Less is more in my opinion.
