Camofire had a the Lone Wolf Mountain Skinner Knife the other day for like $45. I did a little reading up before i pulled the trigger and all reviews were pretty good. Being made by Benchmade i figured it couldnt be but so bad, especially for that price, around the internet is a little more expensive but from the website like almost $90.

Without having actually used the knife yet, im very impressed with the knife overall. Blade is short in length (Which is what i was looking for), but is a wide blade with ample cutting surface. The handle i got is Hi-vis orange which is nice and gives maybe a touch more grip than wood. The handle is curved and has a very nice ridge on the backside and on the notch for the thumb. The knife really really holds well and easy to wield. Blade is also sharp enough out of the box, im gonna hit it with the ceramic sharpener a little though, and is attractive not looking cheap at all. The material is some kind of steel that will not rust as easy and keep a better edge than the cheaper stainless steels (we will see). Leather Sheath it came with is a very tight fit and a decent sheath... its no handcrafted piece but will be more than good enough.

Figured i would pass it along incase anybody is looking at knives. Seems like a decent piece for an attractive price. I have no dog in this fight, just trying to help anybody that might be looking for a new cutting piece.

They are a great knife. Unfortunately Benchmade has done away with the company. I have heard that they may begin producing knives under the name again but entirely US made this time.
