Not trying to be cheap, but after purchasing a LW assault II hang on, 4 LW sticks last november and just recently an Alpha hang-on and 4 LW sticks, I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper alternative to the $60 hunt comfort seat? one with close dimensions and comfy for 13 hour sits? I'm trying not to stand this much this year as i feel I"ve been picked off by movement from afar. OR put your salesman skills to the test and convince me to purchase one...

I duct taped one of those hot seats to mine if that tells you how cheap I am. Works great...but I'm not spending 13 hours in a tree either. I don't think anything will be comfortable in a tree for 13 hours, at least not for me. The thought of it makes my skin crawl:lol:

I use the muddy seats and they are very comfortable and a lot warmer than most seats. After a few hours they do flatten out, but if you stand every few hours to stretch the legs it will puff back up really quick.

Maybe it's just me but I've never had an issue with the seat that comes with the Lone Wolf hang-on stands. I've been sitting in them for years without a problem, including a few all day hunts each year.

I am with Justin on this. I certainly would not be disappointed if it where a bit more plush but I am ok with it as is.

Agree with Zarr, I like the seats. I find the comfort in the pitch (leveling) of the seat itself.

I'm planning on buying a LW this summer. I think the assault 2 is the one I'm looking at, whichever one is 11 lbs. hopefully I don't have a problem with the seat, but when I do have an uncomfortable seat I usually use one of those 1" thick therma seat things

I have never had a problem with the seat either. I do have a habit of standing for a few minutes every hour or so. Think that might help for those all day sits.

    Update:

I purchased the muddy seat for 24.99$. Fits nearly perfect over the LW seat frame. I can still attach the sticks to it for transporting with no problem because I use a summit strap from my summit viper climber to connect the two. Just an FYI for a cheaper alternative!! Thanks to those who responded!

I have a gorilla cushion similar to the muddy you have on my alpha. Does not really impact packing the stand and sticks. My bony butt needs a little more cushion.

My two cents is $60 for 13 hours of comfort...Take my money! Figure 2 times out for a total of 26 hours puts you at just under $2/hr. of comfort.

If that comfort keeps you focused on your sight lines for that period of time I would assume that $60 seat would pay it self off in one deer.

edit: I see you found your $25 fix. Awesome, that seat looks mighty plush!

Not to change the subject, but the more you can stand and stand still in your tree stand the better off you are... for multiple reasons.
