I just puchased the LW Alpha hang on and climbing sticks and they are awesome. I just set up the stand today using the convenient hook strap. I secured it with the upper and lower straps, however the platform has a little play side to side(it wiggles a bit). I know the platform teeth are supposed to "bite" into the tree. Is there any special technique to get the platform set rock solid set against the tree? I'm afraid to step on it until it grabs the tree and has no play. Thanks.

I have never had a problem with mine or heard of this. Are you tightening the straps with the platform folded up? Tightening them with the platform down would probably produce a little give other then that I don't see any reason why it would have any play in it.

I always carry an extra ratchet strap. Like to have solid platform, and I don't completely trust the hook even though it is really handy.

Tighten the hang on hook very tight first. Once you hang the stand on the hook then attach the bottom strap around the stand. After you have the bottom strap on, fold up the platform and then take out the slack in the bottom strap. Once you do this fold the platform back down and it should firm everything up very nicely. You do not need to use the top versa button when using the ez hang system, but if it helps your confidence then go for it. Hope this helps :tu:

if you tighten the top strap with the platform folded up and then put the platform down until the teeth barely touch the tree then tighten the bottom strap and then push the platform down all the way and play with that process and it should work

I have the Assault and I only use the top strap. As mentioned, keep the seat up, tighten strap, fold seat down, and push down on the platform. That seats it nice and securely. Life is beautiful if you own a LW! :tu:

The technique had been covered. I'll say that if the LW stand is loose on the tree, something was done wrong. They are by far the most stable stands I've ever hunted out of. The only ones I've ever had to loosen straps on.

Yep these guys have it. Tighten the straps to the tree then lower the platform. The stand will lock onto the tree solid. Do it right and this stand will not budge. One of the best setups on the market. By far my favorite.
