All the talk about safety has raised a question with me that I have been considering for some time. How do you hang your Lone wolf stand, get off of step, and onto stand platform, all while staying connected to the tree? I have been just using my safety belt to height, then throwing my safety rope (seperate piece) around the tree, pull it thru it's loop and attach my harness caribiner to the prussic knot. Then, I disconnect my safety belt, step into stand, adjust my safety rope/prussic above my head, stow the belt, and I am set. Reverse to go down. Is there a safer, or better way you have come up with?

By the way, this is for mobile, hang and hunt setups. Not permanent stands.
    Thanks

    - linemen's belt on my hss untill i get up to the base of my LF.
    - reach up and put my tree harness just above the seat losely
    - unhook my linemens rope
    - once i step down on my stand tighten the tree harness and re-adjust to proper heigth
same as you =-) only thing i can think of is if we buy those fall guy systems????????????????//

Not what anyone wants to hear, but I climb freely, and then before I step off onto the platform I attach my rope around the tree and snap onto my full body harness. I tighten it up pretty good with little slack before stepping onto the platform too so that if the platform goes, I don't fall far. I always try to be strapped in before I put weight on the platform, and I always put steps up high enough so that I can step off and onto the platform without climbing or pulling myself up and onto the platform.

Thanks for the reply, but I do not see myself ever going that route. I am 1% sure I will one day not be lucky.:D No jab on you either. To each his own.

Linemans belt while hanging the steps but step onto the platform unhooked. I am bear hugging the tree for sure. I hook up the harness as soon as I'm on stand.

I hang 1 stick before attaching to the tree, before I hang the 2nd/3rd stick I'll put my LW rope teather to the tree then slide it to the top of the top v-bracket on the stick. I'll hang my stand, climb onto the stand attached to the tree, once safely in the stand I then adjust the teather so its positioned correctly for the seat height. Coming down I'm attached the entire time just sliding the teather down as I go.
