Need an extra $139 to buy them. Multiple projects around the house and saving for a house here in MD equals me having to wait until I get my bonus in October. Luckily for me its a good amount and the climbing sticks will only be a small fraction of the money. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Had to bump this up with my review of the product. I bought the Lone Wolf Alpha and ended up getting the 3 piece climbing sticks as well (the sticks were a surprise for me from my wife for all the projects I've done for her this summer). I've watched hunting buddies and other people hang stands before on our lease and always thought it looked like entirely way too much work just to avoid hauling in a climber each time they hunted. I bought the stand because I have realized the value in paying money for higher end products that will last and are worth it. I have never had experience hanging a lock-on stand before so I did a lot of research before deciding on this. Initially I wanted a stand that would be primarily permanent, however the run and gun and maneuverability of the lone wolf intrigued me. I went to our property first thing this morning with one of the guys on our lease and hung the stand using the climbing sticks and a linesman strap. It was unbelievably easy to set up compared to what I have witnessed. About half way up, I have to admit that I was doubtful about the run and gun set up with this system, but by the time I finished, I felt confident that I could cut the setup time in half with way less effort the next time around. My early season stand is an enormous split trunk tree that splits about 5 feet up in the air. With the 3 piece climbing sticks and the height of the split, I was able to get up to about 21' (I am 6'5" so I'm sure that helps). The sticks are very forgiving for a new guy with regards to placement and the straps are secure up to 350 lbs. Once I got to my desired height, I pulled up the stand with my rope and being only 12 lbs, I could easily maneuver it into place with both hands free. The standard two straps that come with it are more than sufficient in holding it secure and the seat leveling system and and platform leveling system made enough difference for a novice like me to have a successful first hang. Overall, I am very happy with the stand, I appreciate the input from all the guys on the site and would recommend it to beginners as well as experienced hunters looking for an upgrade.
