Well guys i have been racking my pea for a few months now deciding which lone wolf climber to go with and havent made it very far... I like the size and weight of the hand climber but i'm not sure its all day sit comfortable, i also like the comfort aspect of the sit and climb,And now they have the new flip top climber but i think for the extra weight its not worth it because it cant be anymore comfortable than the hand climber, they have the same seat. So anyway can those of you with any expeirience with these stands lend a hand in my decision process. What im trying to do is get whatever stand is gonna be best for all day sits 10-12 days in a row for my out of state trips. How comfortable is the seat on the hand climber? Thanks for reading my jibber jabber and i appreciate any help... Brian
I'm really not a climbing treestand kind of guy, since I've had 3 different kinds over the years. Two of which where the Lone Wolfs, being the hand climber and the sit & climb. I also owned a Summit climber a short while before the Lone Wolfs. Out of all of them, I liked the Sit & Climb, just do to the fact when I had a lot of clothes on it was less work to get up the tree. Since then, I prefer to use the Lone Wolf climbing sticks, and either the Alpha or the Assault. Like I said I tried climbers but they just weren't my thing. Some guys love them, just not me. Good luck in your search!
To be honest im a hang on guy myself, we hang 14 on our farm that stay up through out the season but for out of state trips i thought a climber would be more convenient for pack in and out daily... Do you hang your stand and leave it or pack it out everyday? If you do pack in and out how do you do that efficiantly enough to not be a pain in the a#$? Brian
I use a muddy hang on and 4 lone wolf sticks when we hunt on the public land around here...I can set up and be in the stand in around 7-10 minutes if I'm in a real hurry and a little faster at take down time.....I hated my climber.....took just as much if not more time...finding the right tree was a pain sometimes... and I never felt totally secure...all of that was cured going to a hang on....that's why I sold my climbers and bought all cheaper hang ons for our farm to leave out during season and a good muddy one for all day sits and public land...will never own another climber Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I like the sound of that... But how do you hang? Do you make multible trips up and down the tree for the sticks and then the stand? or do you take it all at once? seems hard to pull off in the dark... Brian
I love my Lone Wolf sit and climb. A few of my friends had the hand climbers and loved them but did replace them with sit and climb top because they weren't comfortable to sit in for a period of time. They said the added weight was worth the comfort.
