I am looking for 1 less thing to carry in, my bow holder. It takes forever to screw in and is heavy and awkward. I am looking for something that will bolt sturdily to the platform and is ergonomic to reach for. Third hand archery has been mentioned but i am unsure! Thanks!
http://www.basspro.com/API-Outdoors-Universal-Treestand-Bow-Holder/product/10207428/108402 I hunt exclusively from Lone Wolf stands on public land. A few years back I was on the same search as you and decided on this. I bought these bow holders for each of my stands and they are great. Bow is very stable in the holder, no worry of it falling out. This was a concern when I purchased it but it was unfounded. I like this setup better then the new LW stands that hold the bow in the middle of the stand. Here my bow sits on the left side of my stand ready for me to grab. Helped me kill a buck on Nov. 3 this year that I wouldn't have had time to grab my bow off the tree. I had about 8 seconds from the time I saw him to when I shot him. My bow was there in ready position. I detach my quiver and this is necessary for this set up. Also, may want to check out the Treelimb Lone Wolf Quiver mount. I use a treelimb quiver with this mount, pretty darn slick when your a mobile hunter
Lone Wolf stands have the holder in the middle. But, I don't like it there. The one linked by troutking seems to be a good option and something I'm looking for as well.
I too would rather have it on the left instead of the middle. However i have an older USA made LW and it has the old style platform that held older bows. Wont hold mine
yes the old stands also had a bowholder in the middle. However the design Andre D'Acquisto made was for non parallel limb bows. Now the new stands that came out in 2011 have a different bowholder in the middle that accomodates parallel limb bows. My stands are also the old ones.
