What is the infatuation with logo gear? How many or you are a walking billboards or have your truck plastered with advertisements? I have really never understood the "stickers" all over the truck thing. Why would someone buy a company's logo gear to advertise their products / services? That isn't logical to me.

And the pro-conceal carry sticker these guys are putting on their vehicles isn't the smartest thing either....

I rarely buy into the logo gear thing it supports a good cause. I think I picked this up from my dad. He wouldn’t wear anything that had a logo on it. He even special ordered a truck once without any emblems.

So I guess if you want me to wear it.... It better be at no cost me! I’ll go as far as paying for the shirt, if the company pays for their logo....

P.S. - I have logo space for lease on my truck if anyone is interested. ;) It’s priced per square inch and varies pending the location of the logo. Please contact me for a quote. lol!

I personally don't like any of my hunting stuff to have logos on it. Especially hats or safety harnesses. Here is a pic of me without any logos.

    Wait, thats the wrong pic...

[h=2]Introduction[/h]Almost every business has a trading name, from the smallest market trader to the largest multi-national corporation. Only a minority of those businesses however, have what could be classed as a ‘brand’ or a ‘brand name’.
Branding is a word commonly referred to by advertisers and marketing people, but what does it actually mean, how can you get it, and most importantly; how will it benefit your business?
[h=2]What is Branding?[/h]There are many different definitions of a brand, the most effective description however, is that a brand is a name or symbol that is commonly known to identify a company or it’s products and separate them from the competition.

A well-known brand is generally regarded as one that people will recognise, often even if they do not know about the company or its products/services. These are usually the businesse s name or the name of a product, although it can also include the name of a feature or style of a product.
The overall ‘branding’ of a company or product can also stretch to a logo, symbol, or even design features (e.g. Regularly used colours or layouts, such as red and white for Coca Cola.) that identify the company or its products/services.
    For example:
The Nike brand name is known throughout the world, people can identify the name and logo even if they have never bought any of their products.
However, not only is the company name a brand, but the logo (The ‘tick’ symbol) is also a strong piece of branding in its own right. The majority of people that are aware of the company can also identify it (or its products) from this symbol alone.
The clothing and running shoe company Adidas is well known for using three stripes on its range of products. This design feature branding allows people to identify their products, even if the Adidas brand name and logo is not present.
[h=2]How Can Branding Benefit My Business?[/h][h=3]Recognition and Loyalty[/h]The main benefit of branding is that customers are much more likely to remember your business. A strong brand name and logo/ image helps to keep your company image in the mind of your potential customers.
If your business sells products that are often bought on impulse, a customer recognising your brand could mean the difference between no-sale and a sale. Even if the customer was not aware that you sell a particular product, if they trust your brand, they are likely to trust you with unfamiliar products. If a customer is happy with your products or services, a brand helps to build customer loyalty across your business.
[h=3]Image of Size[/h]A strong brand will project an image of a large and established business to your potential customers. People usually associate branding with larger businesses that have the money to spend on advertising and promotion. If you can create effective branding, then it can make your business appear to be much bigger than it really is.
An image of size and establishment can be especially important when a customer wants reassurance that you will still be around in a few years time.
[h=3]Image of Quality[/h]A strong brand projects an image of quality in your business, many people see the brand as a part of a product or service that helps to show its quality and value.
It is commonly said that if you show a person two identical products, only one of which is branded; they will almost always believe the branded item is higher quality.
If you can create effective branding, then over time the image of quality in your business will usually go up. Of course, branding cannot replace good quality, and bad publicity will damage a brand (and your businesses image), especially if it continues over a long period of time.
    For example:
The Sunny Delight drinks brand was one of the biggest in the UK just a year after its launch. However, constant bad publicity about the quality of the product has severely damaged the image of the brand, and sales have dropped for each of the past several years.
[h=3]Image of Experience and Reliability[/h]A strong brand creates an image of an established business that has been around for long enough to become well known. A branded business is more likely to be seen as experienced in their products or services, and will generally be seen as more reliable and trustworthy than an unbranded business.
Most people will believe that a business would be hesitant to put their brand name on something that was of poor quality.
[h=3]Multiple Products[/h]If your business has a strong brand, it allows you to link together several different products or ranges. You can put your brand name on every product or service you sell, meaning that customers for one product will be more likely to buy another product from you.
    For Example:
Sony sells televisions, music equipment, consoles, camcorders, DVD players, video players, and etc all under the Sony brand name.
You can also create separate brand names for your product ranges, allowing people to see your brand name, and then use the range brand name to work out what they wish to buy.
    For Example:
Cadbury’s makes a range of confectionary under many different sub-brand names such as Dairy Milk, Boost, Flake, and Time Out. All of these are sold under the product brand, but all feature the Cadbury’s brand name on the packaging.

Vito. I am well aware of the purpose of branding... My question is why people would buy a product for the sole purpose of advertising said company’s products.

If you are going to plagiarize on someone else's work at least give them credit for them and include the source. We all can Google...

I guess the question is, why would you care? I also hear people will buy shirts and hats with their favorite sports team on it. So what?

If someone buys a shirt because they like the logo, is that any different than buying a shirt based on color?

I don't mind sporting a logo if the product is something that I've used and found to be well worth my money. I bought a BH.com sweatshirt and put the sticker on my truck. My truck isn't plastered in stickers, but there's a few but only of companies that I think are putting out a solid product.

Is your issue that companies make money, or that people like logos?

    I'm confused.

Who cares if said company profits from having a logo on someone's clothing. Kudos to them.

I wear what I want when I want. I'd never buy a shirt because I thought wow that is an awesome Logo....that's just as dumb as passing on a shirt I really like because it does have a logo.

My previous truck had a huge Teeter's Lawncare ad across the back glass. Never got around to having the new one done as I figured I would eventually have the trailer wrapped anyway. Only reason I don't sport the stickers on my truck is because most companies want to charge me for the dumb things.

Neither... My questions is why would someone buy a product for the sole purposes of advertising a companies branding / products. Such as a sticker....

It's something I don't understand. I am not knocking anyone for doing it. As you have said... in lesser words "To each his own".

You're missing the point here. They aren't buying it soley to advertise for the company. They generally don't care if that company is making a profit or increases their business because of it. They're sporting that sticker, or hat, or shirt because they like that company or brand or product or logo and they want to identify with it.

We, as a modern society, identify ourselves by brands and by groups. From the shoes and jeans we wear to the stickers on our trucks or camo on our hats that's how we define ourselves. Hunters put stickers on their trucks and wear camo all over the place because they want people to know they're hunters. Simple as that. Sports fans want people to know who their favorite team is. People who are into clothing or shoes want people to know they're wearing the latest and greatest fashions.

Some people, such as yourself, don't fall into this mold. Although by chosing to NOT wear a particular brand or logo, you're trying to identify yourself as an outsider as much as the rest of the world is identifying themselves BECAUSE of the brands they display. It's a funny thing really.

I have 3 stickers on my vehicle. For whatever reason I like them and like how they look on my vehicle. Now if I was driving a car instead of an SUV I probably wouldn't have them on it.

Justin, Best answer yet. Just for that I am buying a Bowhunting.com sticker and placing it on my truck. lol!

Do you have one that will cover the entire rear window? If I would have had sticker(s) on my truck when the thieves broke my rear glass I wouldn't still be picking up millions of pieces of glass.

Not really. I agree with most of your post except for this (or maybe I'm just one of those "different" people). I buy golf shirts, shoes, pants, etc... based on how they feel on me when I'm playing. I have some Underarmour, some Nike, some Titleist, some of everything. Could care less what logo was on it or who made it. Just like the comfort of the material and sweat resistance.

Golf Clubs as well. I've hit or had in my bag at one time or another about every companies club known to man. Just how it performs for me. Right now I have clevland wedges, Taylor made driver and 3 wood, titleist irons, and Odyssey putter (for now). I know a lot of guys that have Titleist head to toe from clubs, bag, ball, clothes, umbrella, towel, rain gear. Just so they can be a walking Titleist billboard. I use what I like or is best for me and could care less about what name is on it. Unless of course I was getting paid to sport it.
