I just purchased a millennium m7 microlite. I was looking for a stand that I could leave up for a couple weeks, and then move it but leave the receiver. This stand includes the cam lock feature. I am now thinking about packing it in and out every time only in the rut. I will leave screw in tree steps in the tree, as well as the receiver and a bow hook. How much extra commotion, time and noise will it take to lock this on in the dark while standing in the air on screw in steps. I'm just worried that it will be a huge inconvenience, as I am hunting right on a bedding area on a smal property. If anyone has an experience with something like this I would like some input.

    Thanks

If you are planning on setting up another spot and using the stand there I can understand taking it down after each hunt. But if you are only going to use it in that one spot I would just leave it there. One less thing to have to worry about

Hanging any lock on stand type in the morning darkness adds risk.. just saying why would you want to add any noise or risk to a morning hunt?

I do that a lot, but I give myself at least 2 hours before day light to set up. I figure what noise I do make won't bother deer closer to shooting hours

If you have the block reciever and your steps set up it should not be loud at all. Climb up, slide it in the block, put the platform down and get in. I love my Millenniums for that reason, quiet and very easy to use.

Would it be difficult to take it off your back and hang it in the dark while standing on screw in steps? Seems like it could possibly be dangerous/noisy

Also, do you have any experience with the m7?

It isnt as hard as you think once you do it a couple times. It probably isnt the safest but I have had no issues doing it so far.. And I do not have the m7, I have 2 Millennium m100u's and a m25. I'd imagine the m7 to be very similar though
